You are what you eat has been around for ages, but most people probably take it for granted. They still eat sugar, and lots of processed foods, without truly realizing the impact it has on their bodies. I believe many people want to be healthier, they just don’t know how to do it or they don’t have the will power. We can’t help you much with the will power but we can help with the how. These five foods healthy and really good for the brain.

1. Fish
I love fish, sadly though I can not eat it often. My husband is a meat cutter and after cutting through many loads of fish he can no longer stand the smell. So now I devour fish whenever we go out to eat. If you are looking for a great brain food look no further, the Omega-3’s in fish help your brain function properly. Many people also believe the Omega 3’s will help you loose weight,.

2. Salads
More specifically the greens in the salad, unless the salad is made from the ever so popular iceberg lettuce. These greens have a combination of vitamins and minerals essential for brain function synapse xt including B12, B6 and folate. Many people believe those that eat a lot of leafy greens throughout their lives will have a decreased risk of getting Alzheimer’s disease.

3. Berries
Who doesn’t love fruit, it’s sweet, juicy and berries are just the right size to snack on any time of the day. These little balls of goodness are just chuck full of antioxidants which are perfect for increasing and maintaining brain function. These especially help with your memory and the ability to remember past events.

4. Eggs
Eggs can be extremely unhealthy if you choose to eat too many, but eating a moderate amount throughout the week can greatly improve your brains health. Eggs are full of vitamin B12 which can help fight Alzheimer’s and they are full of fatty acids that are essential for not just brain health but overall health as well.
